Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Funmi’s Royal Tea. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, your purchase of products (loose-leaf teas, afternoon tea boxes), and your booking of our catering services.

By accessing our website or booking a service with Caeruleum LLC doing business as Funmi’s Royal Tea ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services and Products

We offer three primary categories of service:

  • Full-Service Catering: On-site afternoon tea experiences (e.g., Royal Tea, Mini Royal Tea).

  • Delivery/Takeaway: "Tea Party to Go" and Afternoon Tea Boxes.

  • Online Retail: Loose-leaf teas and accessories.

 

2. Booking and Event Catering

2.1. Booking and Deposits

  • Booking Fee: To secure a date for a catering event, a $50.00 Booking Fee is required. This fee is deducted from your final bill.

  • Confirmation: No date is reserved until the Booking Fee is paid and you receive a confirmation email from us.

2.2. Payment Terms

  • 50% Balance: Is due 5 days before your event date.

  • Final Balance: The remaining balance for your event is due on the day of your event date.

  • Taxes: A 6% sales tax is automatically added to all bills.

  • Staffing Fees: For groups larger than [e.g., 8 people], additional staffing fees will apply (currently estimated at $120 per staff member).

2.3. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Client Cancellation:

    • Cancellations made more than [e.g., 8 days] before the event will receive a full refund of the Booking Fee.

    • Cancellations made less than [e.g., 8 days] before the event result in the forfeiture of the Booking Fee.

  • Rescheduling: We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests based on availability, provided they are made at least [e.g., 8 days] in advance.

 

3. Food Policy and Dietary Restrictions

3.1. Dietary Requirements

  • We are happy to accommodate Gluten-Free, Vegan, or Dairy-Free requests.

  • Surcharges: An additional fee (currently $15 per person) applies to special dietary meals due to the specialized ingredients and preparation required.

  • Notice: All dietary restrictions must be communicated to us at least [e.g., 8 days] prior to the event.

3.2. Allergen Disclaimer

  • Warning: Funmi’s Royal Tea prepares food in a commercial kitchen that handles common allergens, including milk, eggs, wheat (gluten), soybean, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and sesame.

  • While we take strict safety measures to accommodate dietary requests, we cannot guarantee that any menu item is completely free of allergens due to the potential for cross-contamination.

  • Client Responsibility: Please inform us of any specific dietary requirements upon booking. The Client assumes full responsibility for notifying their guests of these potential allergy risks.

 

4. Equipment and Breakage (Catering)

For full-service events, we provide fine china, linens, and tiered stands.

  • Care and Use: The Client agrees to treat all provided equipment with care.

  • Breakage/Loss: The Client is responsible for any significant damage, breakage, or loss of our property caused by guests during the event. We reserve the right to invoice the Client for the replacement cost of broken vintage china or ruined linens.

  • Cleanup: We handle the setup and clearing of our tea service items. We request that the hosting table be cleared of other items before our arrival.

 

5. Delivery and "Tea Party to Go"

5.1. Service Area

  • Delivery is available within Richmond, Greater Richmond, VA.

  • Deliveries outside this radius may be subject to an additional travel fee or may not be accepted.

5.2. Receipt of Goods

  • For "Tea Party to Go" orders, the customer must be present to receive the delivery during the scheduled window. We cannot leave perishable food items unattended.

 

6. Online Retail (Loose-Leaf Tea)

6.1. Shipping

  • We ship loose-leaf tea products in person or via the carrier USPS. Shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed.

6.2. Returns and Refunds

  • Perishable Goods: Loose-leaf tea and food items are non-returnable for health and safety reasons.

  • Damaged Goods: If your tea arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us at info@funmisroyaltea.com within 24 hours of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we will arrange a replacement or refund.

 

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Caeruleum LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use of our services or products. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the specific service or product.
